Job Description

The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), the nation’s largest small business advocacy organization, looks to hire a Summer Intern to join its Political and Federal Government Relations teams.

1. Assist the Federal Government Relations and Political teams with various tasks.
2. Attend Congressional Candidate Interviews.
3. Attend Capitol Hill meetings with team members.
4. Research small business policy issues and draft documents to support our advocacy and political efforts.
5. Help the Federal Government Relations team during NFIB’s annual Fly-In
6. Attend and write memos on Congressional Hearings.
7. Participate in team meetings and strategy discussions.

1. Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Political Science, Business Administration, Public Relations or a related subject.
2. 0-1 years of work experience.
3. Ability to work approximately 20 hours per week and come into the office (T/W/TH).
4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong analytical, interpersonal, and organizational capabilities.
5. Interest in policy, political issues, and U.S. Federal government.
6. Experience with Microsoft Office
7. Pay Rate - $18.50 an hour
