JOB OVERVIEW

• Job Title: Pediatric Hospitalist

• Job Type: Locum Tenens

• Location: Mountain Home, AR

• Service Setting: Hospital (Inpatient/Nursery/ER Call)

• Coverage Type: Call Only

• Coverage Period: June 5, 2026 – Ongoing

• Clinical Shift Schedule: Not Applicable

• On-Call Shift Schedule: Friday 5:00 PM – Monday 7:00 AM

• Call Type: 24-hour call (offsite, hotel/home call)

• Call Ratio: 1 weekend per month

• Call Response Time: 30 minutes

• Callback Rate: Low (2–3 calls per day)

COVERAGE DATES

• June 5 (12:00 PM) – June 8 (7:00 AM)

• June 19 (12:00 PM) – June 22 (7:00 AM)

• Ongoing weekend coverage available

PATIENT INFORMATION

• Patient Demographics: Neonates, Infants, Pediatrics

• Patient Volume/Census: Very low inpatient volume (1–2 patients); nursery average 5 babies; 2–3 ER calls per day

• Admissions: Included

• Rounding: Required once daily (Saturday & Sunday)

• Phone Consults: Included

• Case Mix: Newborn nursery, inpatient pediatric coverage, ER consults

FACILITY INFORMATION

• Trauma Level: Level III–IV (Adult)

• EMR System: Cerner

• Office Equipment Available: Standard pediatric and neonatal support equipment

• Support Staff Available: Hospital staff

• Reason for Coverage: Physician leave (surgery)

PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE

• Hospital Privileges Required: Yes

• Temporary Privileges Available: Expedited (3–4 weeks with clean file)

• Credentialing Timeline: Approximately 3–4 weeks

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

REQUIRED PROCEDURES

• Neonatal resuscitation

• Intubation

• Line placement

• Stabilization for transfer

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Licenses: Active AR license required (no licensing available)

• Board: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatrics

• DEA: Required

• Experience: New graduates accepted

• Other Qualifications: Must be comfortable with neonatal stabilization and emergency pediatric care

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide weekend pediatric call coverage (offsite)

• Manage newborn nursery and inpatient pediatric unit

• Respond to ER consults (primarily phone-based)

• Perform daily rounding on nursery and inpatient unit

• Stabilize and transfer patients as needed

• Maintain accurate documentation in Cerner EMR
