Salary Range: $75,000 $107,500

Placement Fee: 11%

Estimated Pay: $8250-$11,825
Payment Terms: Net 90 Days

Replacement Guarantee: 90 Days

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Legal Assistant / Paralegal Criminal Law to support attorneys with criminal law cases and daily legal operations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience supporting criminal matters in New Jersey and be comfortable managing multiple responsibilities while working independently.

This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to provide high-quality legal support throughout case preparation and client interactions.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide legal administrative and paralegal support for criminal law matters.

• Assist attorneys with case preparation, documentation, and legal filings.

• Manage case files, records, and confidential client information.

• Prepare and organize legal documents, correspondence, and reports.

• Coordinate with clients, courts, and other legal parties as needed.

• Maintain accurate case information and ensure deadlines are tracked.

• Support attorneys with day-to-day case management activities.

• Handle multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.

Required Qualifications

• Must have verifiable New Jersey criminal law experience.

• Prior experience working as a Legal Assistant or Paralegal supporting criminal law matters.

• Strong understanding of criminal law processes and legal documentation.

• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and take initiative.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word is required.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to work onsite five days per week in Livingston, NJ.

Preferred Qualifications

• Spanish bilingual skills preferred.

• Experience working in a criminal defense law firm environment.

• Familiarity with New Jersey court procedures and legal systems.
