Role Overview Full-time Aircraft Maintenance Technician position in Kalitta Air's Maintenance department in Los Angeles, CA, reporting to the LAX Maintenance Manager and to the Lead of the assigned crew. The basic function is to troubleshoot and repair aircraft, powerplants, components and structure. Key Responsibilities During station coverage, conduct pre- and post-flight walk-around inspections covering tyres, brakes and general condition, and maintain contact with Maintenance Control about the aircraft's condition Read and interpret all maintenance instructions as applicable, including AMMs, SRMs, WDMs, IPCs, EAs and routine task cards Troubleshoot and repair discrepancies as necessary, ensuring all work is performed in accordance with approved maintenance data Ensure all work is performed and documented in accordance with Kalitta Air and FAA requirements, and document any discrepancies identified during a maintenance task Follow all Kalitta Air and FAA policies, procedures and safety rules, and bring any identified safety deficiencies to the company's attention Adhere to Sterile Cockpit Procedures as defined in Section 3.1.69 Keep a neat and clean work area at all times Any other duties as assigned by the Lead or Supervisor Licences & Qualifications A&P licence required High school graduate; some college and/or technical school desirable Previous Boeing 747 experience desirable Own tools required Requirements Ability to read, write and understand spoken and written English, write routine reports and correspondence, and give verbal direction to assigned staff Physically able to reach with hands and arms, stand, walk, talk or hear, and use hands to feel or operate objects, tools or controls; occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl Must occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds to eye level, and lift 10 pounds with each arm overhead Twist and turn with normal strength forces, climb numerous flights of stairs, work on ladders and at some high elevations, and work in a squatted position Able to work in all weather conditions Additional Information Work is performed primarily in a construction and maintenance setting where the noise level is usually loud. Requirements
