Job Description

Description:

Third Grade Teacher

At Freedom Academy, we believe childhood matters.

We believe students learn best when they feel safe, known, challenged, encouraged, and genuinely cared for by the adults around them. We believe classrooms should be filled with both academic excellence and joy. And we believe teachers should be supported, respected, and empowered to do meaningful work that truly impacts children’s lives.

We are building a school culture rooted in Integrity, Honor, and Leadership — where students are challenged academically, developed relationally, and surrounded by adults who genuinely love what they do.

We are currently seeking a passionate, relational, and academically strong 3rd Grade Teacher who loves children, believes education matters, and wants to help shape a healthy, student-centered learning environment.

This role is far more than delivering lessons or managing a classroom. Our teachers help shape culture, build confidence, cultivate curiosity, strengthen character, and help students develop both academically and personally during some of the most formative years of childhood.

If you love teaching, building relationships, creating engaging learning environments, and being part of a mission-driven team that truly cares about students and families — we would love to meet you.

What Makes Freedom Different

Freedom Academy is a K–8 charter school committed to:

  • Defending childhood
  • Reclaiming academic excellence
  • Restoring parental trust in education

We believe students thrive in environments that are both structured and relational. Our goal is to create a campus that feels joyful, safe, encouraging, and deeply human — not cold, chaotic, or institutional.

Our classrooms prioritize strong academics, healthy childhood development, character formation, and meaningful partnership with families.

Our team genuinely cares about one another. We laugh together, problem-solve together, support one another through challenges, and work hard to create a school environment where both students and staff can flourish.

Our Commitment to Families

At Freedom Academy, we believe strong schools are built through strong partnerships with parents.

We are committed to creating a learning environment that prioritizes academic excellence, student safety, character development, healthy childhood experiences, and transparent communication with families.

Applicants are encouraged to review our Freedom Academy Pledge to Parents to better understand our school culture, values, and educational philosophy:

We believe clarity builds trust, and we are committed to ensuring strong alignment between our team, our mission, and the families we serve.

What You’ll Help Lead & Support

As a 3rd Grade Teacher, you will help:

  • Create a safe, engaging, student-centered classroom environment
  • Deliver strong academic instruction in alignment with school standards and expectations
  • Build positive relationships with students and families
  • Foster both academic growth and character development
  • Support classroom structure, routines, and healthy student behavior
  • Collaborate with school leadership and fellow teachers to support student success
  • Contribute positively to campus culture, team morale, and organizational trust
  • Help students feel known, encouraged, challenged, and cared for

We’re Looking For Someone Who:

  • Loves working with children and believes in the value of education
  • Creates a calm, structured, encouraging classroom environment
  • Is relational, warm, and professional with students and families
  • Maintains strong classroom leadership and clear expectations
  • Values academic excellence and meaningful student growth
  • Works well with a team and communicates professionally
  • Is dependable, organized, and solution-oriented
  • Is teachable, adaptable, and open to feedback
  • Contributes positively to school culture and team unity
  • Believes school should feel uplifting, relational, and student-centered

Our Core Values

Integrity

We do the right thing with honesty, professionalism, accountability, and sound judgment.

Honor

We treat students, families, staff, and community members with dignity, kindness, and respect.

Leadership

We take ownership, communicate clearly, solve problems, and contribute positively regardless of title.

Requirements:

Qualifications:

· Valid Arizona teaching certification (or ability to obtain)

· Experience teaching elementary grades preferred

· Strong communication and classroom management skills

· Commitment to fostering an inclusive and positive learning environment

Compensation details: 48000-52000 Yearly Salary
