Job Title: Industrial Painter

Job Description

This role focuses on industrial painting and coating of structural steel components in a manufacturing facility. You will use spray equipment to prepare, prime, and finish metal beams according to detailed customer specifications, ensuring high-quality and durable coatings suitable for large infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Prepare structural steel components for painting by performing paint prep activities such as cleaning, grinding, and hand blasting on steel surfaces.
• Operate spray guns, including HVLP (high-volume, low-pressure) systems, to apply primers and finish coats to metal beams in accordance with customer specifications and industry standards.
• Work in an industrial paint booth and open manufacturing areas to apply coatings consistently and safely on structural steel.
• Read and interpret blueprints and related documents to understand coating requirements, coverage areas, and finishing details.
• Inspect surfaces before and after painting to ensure proper preparation, coverage, and finish quality, making adjustments as needed.
• Handle and mix paints, primers, and coatings according to manufacturer instructions and shop procedures.
• Use hand tools and power tools such as grinders to prepare surfaces and achieve required profiles for coating adhesion.
• Collaborate with welders, fitters, and other team members to coordinate painting activities within the production schedule.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, including paint booths, equipment, and tools, to support safety and efficiency.
• Follow all safety procedures related to industrial painting, including proper use of personal protective equipment and safe handling of coatings and materials.
• Support general structural steel fabrication activities as needed, including basic fitting or assisting with MIG and flux core welding operations when required.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• 2–4 years of industrial painting or related experience is a strong plus.
• Experience with MIG and flux core welding in a structural steel environment.
• Ability to read and interpret detailed blueprints and structural drawings.
• in fitting or working with structural steel components.
• Comfort working with grinding equipment and other metal preparation tools.
• Experience supporting large infrastructure or bridge projects.

Work Environment

The position is based in a fast-paced structural steel manufacturing facility that focuses on painting large steel components for infrastructure projects. The work environment is largely open to the elements, so you should be comfortable working in varying weather conditions. Standard hours are on the first shift from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, with overtime available before the shift starting at 4:30 AM. You will work in and around industrial paint booths, heavy steel fabrication equipment, and metal preparation areas, using tools such as spray guns, grinders, and blasting equipment while following appropriate safety and protective gear requirements.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bath, PA.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Bath,PA.
